About a week and a half ago, I was out to look for some new lip gloss. Not one for a lot of color on my lips, it needed to be just a hint of color but moisturizing. Thinking I had found the right one, I bought 2.

For the last few days, I noticed something happening to my lips but was not quite sure what was happening. My lips felt like they were getting fat but didn’t appear so. The inside of my lower lip was sensitive even to my tongue gently running over it & to my own saliva. My lips were tingling all the time. I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it. Then last night when my lower teeth began to feel like they were going to crack, I decided to “Google” for an answer & a remedy. I ask you, what else would a woman do???? So I “googled” (I love how that word is now a verb!!!) “causes of lip swelling” & found to my surprise that there was the possibility that it was my new lip product.

I went on their website today only to read:

“All natural.” “Natural & clinically proven.” “100% natural.” “For lips that go bloom!”

Well mine had bloomed OK as they were bigger & without the use of botox!!!!

In talking with a representative from their company, he confirmed that it was an allergic reaction to a particular plant used in their lip balms & it was not an unusual reaction at all. Very interesting. All natural & yet, not at all good for me.

I loved the product. It went on well. Felt good. Looked good. And yet, not at all good for me. Sure, I could keep using the product but I would end up with lips that would be larger than life itself!
