Today was the day. My cell phone died & I needed to get a new one. The problem? Since getting my phone 5 or 6 years ago, maybe more, technology has changed so much. Now is the time of “smart phones” & could this woman make that transition then becomes the question of the day :)))

Off to AT&T Tim & I went. He in search of an upgrade. Me in search of a phone just so I can talk. Just talk. When the clerk saw my phone, he was in somewhat of a shock that I had a phone that still had the name “Cingular” on it. I knew this was not going to be easy!! Both the clerk & Tim convinced me to get a smart phone. While the clerk was writing it all up & transferring my contacts, etc., this is what I heard…

“You are not going to believe how fast your phone is going to be.” (Fast? I just want to talk).

“It is going to be like comparing a Corolla to a Ferrari”. (“I just want to talk.”).

“Wait till you see all that you are going to be able to do.” (“I just want to talk.”)

Unbeknowst to me, Tim is texting Krisy all about our journey into AT&T while we are waiting. Yeah, yeah, I know – your attorneys will be contacting me for using your names in my blog. Yeah, yeah – I have already heard that. I can deal with that :)) But then I kind of got challenged by this comment & I will leave the name of the commentator out to protect the guilty….

“I bet she is going to blog about this.”

There. The gauntlet was thrown down. Could I possibly glean anything from this trip to AT&T other than I now own a phone that I have no idea how to use!!! LOLOLOL. As the afternoon has passed on, it hit me.

Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.” (Isaiah 65:24).

Did you catch it that BEFORE we call, He is answering. WHILE WE ARE STILL SPEAKING, He is hearing us. How amazing is that!!! No download needed. No upgrade. No special app. No smart phone. Just talk :)) Now that I can do!! He is listening 24/7.
