A few days ago, I wrote about getting a new phone. Who thought I would learn so much from this experience? Seriously. Just switching from one phone to another has been a lesson in itself. Even watching Tim go from one iPhone to another has been interesting. It is amazing how excited we each have gotten over what our phones can do, the difference in using the phones, the fun of the phones, etc.

But this got me to thinking over these last few days….

How we desire the newest technology. We want the “new & improved”. We want the “update”. We want the “remodel”. Why there is even a commercial for a certain store by which a 3D-TV is being delivered, while on the outside of the delivery truck is an advertisement for the 4D model coming out soon. We will never be able to keep up. Yet we so desire to have the newest, to be on the cutting edge.

I think God desires that for us too! I really do. In 2 Corinthians 3:18, we are told,

“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever”‘increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Our hearts are continually being changed as we are in relationship with God. We just cannot be in relationship with God & remain unchanged. He is committed to changing us. The amazing thing about this is that He does not make a change in us one time. He continues to change us throughout our life. The Expositor’s Commentary says it this way, “the glory experienced under the new covenant progressively increases.” He works in our lives in an ever-increasing way. He is always in the process of updating us, remodeling us, transforming us. The question we need to ask ourselves truly is, “Am I reflecting Him more today than I did yesterday?”

And may we be able to respond, “With ever-increasing glory.”
