What a gift God has given to us.
This morning I took out an old CD. How refreshing & renewing to hear an old song & have it speak anew to my heart. It was just what I needed today.
CD in point – Natalie Grant’s – Deeper Life.
I took it out because I thought Sophia would enjoy the pop genre & sing & dance. And that we did as she LOVED Natalie Grant’s music! But then to have the words speak deeply to me was the surprise that only God could have sprung on me.
Being a woman is tough.
There I said it.
There are so many voices calling to us. So many “hats” that we wear in a given day. Demands. Responsibility. Stress.
There is only one way to face or handle it all & that is to go deeper with Him. Christ gave us this promise:
“I am the bread of life. He (she) who comes to me will never go hungry, and he (she) who believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35 NIV).
As I read this, this is what I realized – All Jesus asks of us is two things: to come & to believe. If we do that, He will meet the hunger of our souls. He will quench our thirst. We will be satisfied & fulfilled as women. We will have more to give to our husbands, our children, our friends, and others.
