Each Friday, Lisa takes Sophia to her ballet class or as Sophia calls it, “ballerina school”. Sophia loves it. It is a precious site seeing these little girls, 3 years old, all wanting to do ballet. In their little tutu’s with their ballet slippers on, they are convinced that they are ballerinas. They believe they are performing ballet with grace & perfection. For that one hour each week, Sophia is a ballerina.

Below is a clip of Sophia at “ballerina school”. She is the one in the middle of the shot, facing the camera. They are all trying to master the art of the “hula hoop.” The first time I saw this, I laughed as I watched her attempts. These little girls are just precious in their attempts. It has been weeks of trying & she has yet to give up. As long as that hula hoop goes around her little waist, she is sure that she is doing exactly what Miss Susie does.

I realized that I never did master the art of the hula hoop. Sure, I can do it for a short time but to do it sustained, I never did manage to achieve. As I have watched this video now, multiple times, a few thoughts have come to me…

  • God has planned things for us to do.  “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  (Ephesians 2:10 NIV).
  • They are things that are inconceivable to me. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”Â Â Â Â Â Â Â                  (1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV). In other words, I will never be able to outdream God.
  • He will enable me to do those things. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13 NLT).
