Yesterday was opening day at Fenway. Fenway was even trending on Twitter. More amazing than that is the fact that, even I noticed this!!! So in the midst of the start of baseball, fantasy baseball, & grilled hotdogs (!!!), I thought a little tongue in cheek question might be fun.

I have been asking myself ……

What does one do when life throws you a curve ball?

Let’s face it, we can plan. Work out all the details. Have everything figured out. But the one thing we miss is that we are not in control. So what do we do?

David said it all:
I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me; he’s right by my side. I’m glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I’ve pitched my tent in the land of hope. I know you’ll never dump me in Hades; I’ll never even smell the stench of death. You’ve got my feet on the life-path, with your face shining sun-joy all around.   (Acts 2:25-28 The Message).

So what do we do?

  • See God before us at all times. Let Him be our focus & not our circumstances. Recognize that He alone is our all-sufficient Sustainer.
  • Remain unshaken. God is unmovable & we can be as well as we rely on Him.
  • Remain hopeful. Hope in God will never disappoint us (Romans 5:5)

Hope can see heaven through the thickest clouds.” (Thomas Brooks)

So…..get going….”pitch your tent in the land of hope.”
