Over the last few weeks, we have had weather representative of probably all four seasons. During those days, it can be so hard to know what to wear, how to dress. The change of seasons demands a change of clothes.

Our spiritual lives need a change as well & Paul tells us just what we need to do:

“So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties & drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity & immoral living, or in quarreling, and jealousy. Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.” Romans 13:12-14 NLT).

There we have it – we all need a change of clothes. And in order for change to happen, we need to think differently. He tells us, don’t even let yourself think about the wrong thing. Don’t go there.

When we change our clothes, we put on something new….

“His faithful promises are your armor & protection.”Â  (Psalm 91: 4b NLT).

His faithful promises, His Word is our protection. So…

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable; and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent & worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8 NLT).

So this spring as we prepare to change out from our winter clothes, may we remember that “His faithful promises are our armor & protection”. May we face the day appropriately dressed. Bottom line? Don’t go out spiritually unprepared!
