Enough.

One simple word.

“Enough” has been defined as:

  1. adequate for the want or need
  2. sufficient to satisfy desire
  3. satisfactory
  4. competent
  5. acceptable

Some interesting sentences using the word “enough”:

“You’re not enough.”

“You’re not educated enough.”

“You’re not liked enough.”

“You’re not organized enough.”

“You’re not accepted enough.”

“You’re not experienced enough.”

You get the point. We all have the tape recording that plays in our heads at various times. It may sound slightly different in each of our lives but probably at the end of that recording is that one word, “enough”.

The basis of that is the FEAR that “I am not enough”.

Fear is what drives that tape.

When I accept the truth that God loves me just the way that I am, fear is driven out & the tape can come to a halt.

First John 4:18 tells us, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.”

The perfect love of the Father for each of us drives out fear. Not – “it may drive out fear” or “perhaps it can drive out fear” but – “it drives out fear!”

The truth is, none of us will ever be enough. But the greater truth is this: None of us needs to be enough because He is!!! He is enough!!!! He is all in all.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV).

So may we each relieve ourselves of the stress of having to be “enough” because He already is all that we need & He is in us. It is through His Spirit in us that we will be all that we need to be. We will be enough. He is.
