Today was Ann Curry’s last morning on the Today show. Whether we agree or disagree with the reasons for the change is not the issue of this writing. I have watched this clip several times & it has been       resonating with me all day. I have always enjoyed Ann’s interviews & news clips. Yet even that is not the point.

As I have watched this announcement, my heart broke for her. It is so obvious that she has loved her job & that her pain is deep. As I watched her apologize for being emotional, I realized that no matter what position any of us hold in life, no matter the job, the education, when our dream is crushed, we are forever changed.

It is only in & through Christ that we find the strength to carry on. To press forward, knowing & believing that He has more for us. It is only in & through Him that we find hope & that hope will never disappoint us. We find our identity in Him. Our purpose in Him. Life makes sense only when filtered through the truth that nothing happens in our lives that is not filtered through the hands of the Almighty.

And so when we feel like the rug has been pulled out from under us, may we remember this:

“No pit is so deep that He is not deeper still; with Jesus even in our darkest moments, the best remains and the very best is yet to be.” Corrie Ten Boom
