I have been asking myself this question: What makes a good leader? In reading Psalm 15 the other day, I realized that it lays out for us a list of good criteria for leadership. The Psalm opens by asking:

“Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your    presence on your holy hill?” (verse 1).

Then he proceeds to lay it out for us. There are some basic, simple characteristics that are needed by every leader. The Message states it this way:

  • walk straight
  • act right
  • tell the truth
  • don’t hurt your friends
  • don’t blame your neighbors
  • despise the despicable
  • keep your word even if it costs you
  • make an honest living
  • never take a bribe

How’s that for the list of all lists?

How are you doing?
