I am amazed by the things I will save. OK, not necessarily physically in my house (although there is a little of that) but even on my computer. There is such a wealth of information & pictures & interesting articles to read on the internet. So much creativity. Many great thoughts.

For instance, I have this one, that I have saved on my desktop now – FOR MONTHS. Seriously. Every once in a while, I go back to it & read it & let it sink in, again. It would get under my skin just a little bit more. I knew the thought was not complete, Until this morning….

Each time I have looked at this picture, I would remember Philippians 4:8, which states:

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable”“if anything is excellent or praiseworthy”“think about such things.”

And yet, for months, I knew there was more. It is not solely what is in my head. Then it would be limited to “the power of positive thinking”. There was MORE. This morning, once again, I popped up the picture of the t-shirt. As I read it, the MORE finally hit me. I realized that gently, the Holy Spirit had brought to my remembrance & revealed the MORE:

“For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7, NKJV).

There it was, in a nutshell, served out before me. The very reason that our God is after our hearts. It is in our hearts that we find our true thoughts. So this morning I realized….

if I want to change the way I think, the way I act, then I have to change the words that are in my heart. The Psalmist said it perfectly:

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11 NIV).

When the correct words, His Words, are hidden in our hearts then the proper action is put in motion and that action will yield a habit which in turn will shape our character & lead us to our destiny.

Don’t be fooled.

Your heart matters more than you may think. The words that you are storing there are critical to fulfilling your purpose in Christ.

What “word” are you hiding today?

It will be shaping your destiny tomorrow.
