Sometimes we hear words so often we tend not to think about their definitions any longer. We can take their meaning for granted. It can be that way with the words, “grace” and “mercy”. They fell on me a new this morning:

Mercy is being spared from ill that is deserved.

Grace is being gifted with good that is undeserved.

We are the recipients of both the mercy & grace of God. Absolutely amazing!

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He love us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved – and raised us up with him & seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”(Ephesians 2:4-7)
