I went to Target last night with Lisa & Sophia. Just us “big girls” were going as Sophia put it. Once parked, Sophia asked if I would carry her. I replied, “Yes” & was able to get as far as the door of the store & then had to put her down. So she proceeded to walk, holding my hand. Perfect.

And then an image came into my head of some poor woman, with multiple kids, trying to shop or run an errand or do a chore with multiple kids. Maybe they are hanging on her sleeve or pulling on her pants. If you’re a mom, you can relate šŸ™‚

It brought to mind a different sort of “holding on” that I had read a few days before.

This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: In those days ten men from different nations & languages of the world will clutch at the sleeve of one Jew. And they will say, “Please let us walk with you, for we have heard that God is with you.

Zechariah 8:23 NLT

Over the last few days, I have found this verse to be nagging. I say that respectfully as it is Scripture & I am sure that is what it is intended to do šŸ™‚ But here is what has gotten under my skin….

Do people desire to be with me because they know that God is with me? Is my life demonstrating Him?

Do my children & grandchildren, my husband want to be with me because God is in my life & He makes me kind, gentle, loving & wiser than I am?

Going back to the verse, the ten men want to walk with the one Jew solely because they heard. His life had to be an example of the blessing that comes to those who walk with God for these ten to have heard.

Today may we desire to display God to those around us so that they would desire to walk with us “for they heard that God is with us!!!” May others see Him above all else in us.
