Some years ago, my mom discovered that she had a poetic streak in her. We used to look forward to getting a card from her, in which, she would write a limerick to describe what was going on in our family. We would all laugh till the tears fell. None of us knew she had this “gift”. I am not sure if poetic genius or humor was her gifting but we enjoyed it none the less.

This morning was the close of our women’s small groups at church. It has been a good year of studying wisdom through Beth Moore’s, Wising Up. In wrapping up, I wanted to give the women a word of encouragement so they would be brave as they faced the summer ahead. If you don’t think a summer with children home from school does not take bravery, then you have not had a summer with children. It takes much energy & innovation to keep children happy & busy over the long haul. Anyway, back to the point at hand…..This morning, I felt compelled to share this portion of Scripture:

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the start, which you have set in place,

What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?

You have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory & honor.

(Psalm 8:3-5 NIV84)

As I read, these three sentences came to my mind. Who knew the poetic gene would live on 🙂 ….

He is BIG.

We are SMALL.

And yet, He sees it ALL.

When you think about the vastness that God has created, it is astounding. He is such a great & mighty God. In the midst of that greatness & vastness, we are so small. And yet, there is not a single detail of our lives that He misses.

He sees it all.

I am grateful for each woman that participated in Bible Study this year. You have made my life richer.

May we trust Him with our lives. With every detail. For surely, He will work it all out. To our astonishment. And to His glory!
