Here it is. Looks like perfection when you look at those two little girls dressed in their sweetness.
We had known for MONTHS that they would be flower girls. There was only one problem – Jocelyn was not yet a year old or walking. So it was decided, we would buy the dress – in faith – hoping that she would, indeed, be walking in time. And then we worked like the dickens to try to get it to happen. No words can even express the joy that we all felt when she began walking on her own an entire month before the actual day. That gave us a whole month to get her steady enough on her feet for her to walk the aisle.
And now, here they are all arrayed in their loveliness.
But what is actually happening?
If you take a peek, in the top left hand corner, you will notice the tire of a golf cart. Perched in that cart is the ring bearer! As we came around the corner of the circle, he spotted it & made a full out run for it, his ring pillow & all! No amount of coaxing could get him to continue his walk down the aisle. So we quickly made adjustments & as parents of the groom, we had the joy of walking with our own granddaughters.
Lesson learned? Never tempt a 2 1/2 year old boy with a riding toy š

Love this story! In having young children they are always a wild card! So glad that you have this sweet picture with your grand-daughters. I was a flower girl long ago in my cousin’s wedding, and I forgot to drop my flower petals down the aisle because I was too busy looking for my boy cousin who wasn’t even in attendance at the wedding! I walked our son down the aisle of my sister’s wedding when he was the ring bearer. Later during that wedding…my son (age 2) started counting the “piggies going to market” on my mom’s toes in the front row. No one really heard him but her, and it was a sweet moment. She realized she didn’t have her panty hose on though in that moment…but in FL the summer toes can show we assured her. Love family memories behind the scenes! Hopping over from Crystal’s page.

We had a couple of two year old (twins) ring bearers at our wedding. Our strategy was to tie the rings to the pillows, and coax them down the isle with Skittles. It worked too well. As soon as they were told that “Uncle” Ryan and “Aunty” Jess – two of our attendants – had Skittles, they chucked the pillows over their shoulders and ran for it.
Someone got a great picture of my husband and the best man with big smiles on their faces, and now I always have to explain that no, they’re not looking at me in my stunning dress … š
