On Tuesdays, I join Crystal Stine in a link up called Behind the Scenes. “Behind the Scenes” is a fun link up where we show those photos – but tell the real story behind them. The sneak peek behind the scenes, a look past the edges of the photo to the real life behind it.
This one is a little different.
With Pinterest, twitter & Facebook being such a part of our lives, we only need to get on one to realize that people post the perfect pictures of their latest creations. These can range from photos, to paintings, to dinners, to furniture restoration, to cakes baked. We can find multi-layered cakes, with frosting & decorations & fondant that will make your eyes pop & your mouth water. Gone are the days of cakes made simply.
And so the cake was made by my son-n-law Peter, a first time baker & my five year old granddaughter. It may not have been fancy or even perfect but it was perfection. There has not been a cake that has been baked with more love & pride than the funfetti cake that showed up to my house for this birthday celebration…..
Kudos to my son-in-law for not worrying about impressing anyone or what anyone might say. His only thought was on doing something special with Sophia. And so I dedicate this post to Peter – a gift of a son-in-law, a wonderful guy that loves his wife & happens to be a great dad!
I am linking with Behind The Scenes .
