Change is in the air. You can feel it. And so can she.

The summer is coming to a close. There is just a couple of more weeks & the summer hiatus will be over. Many others are longing for the return of the school routine. But your heart is aching at the thought. And in many ways, so is hers.

Your first born will be going to kindergarten this fall. An all day, full week program. Amazing to think that the time has gone by so quickly. The toddler years are now behind you and the school years are before you. And that is scary.

Scary to think that there will be others who will also have influence on her. They will vie for her attention. In fact, demand it. The teachers, the other children, teammates, the media. In some way, they will all try for a piece of her. There will be those whom she will begin to admire & emulate.

{{Breathe.}}

At the end of each school day, she will return to you. Be there for her. Let the close of the day be the most important part of your day. Listen to her. Let her share the joys, the difficulties, the laughter with you. Be attentive, giving her all of you. Be sure she knows she is important to you. That she matters.

I want to assure you that your influence has impacted her life. It will last. All which you have deposited into her will remain, guiding her through her days.

And make sure she knows you will always be waiting for her.

Always.

Your influence, presence & friendship will have a far reaching impact.

For it will be eternal.

I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.
