EpicGraceI recently had the joy of reading Epic Grace: Chronicles of a Recovering Idiot by Kurt W. Bubna. I am not sure why I chose to request this book to review but to say I am grateful is an understatement. This book was such an easy read and one I found hard to put down.

The author has a most engaging style of writing which made me feel he was having a conversation with me. His stories made me laugh out loud and at times moved me to tears. But they always pointed me to the grace of God.

Kurt shares his journey with God in a most vulnerable and transparent way. He shares his journey through difficult and painful experiences in which he learned about the character and grace of God. Epic Grace is a story – the story of God’s grace at work in Kurt’s life. More so, it reveals the story of how our God works in each of our lives – with a grace that will astound each one of us.

God’s gentle grace comforts us when we are deeply wounded.

His larger-than-life grace covers us when we are wrestling with hardship.

His empowering grace helps us to stay the course when the going gets tough.

And God’s epic grace shows us how to rise above our pain and circumstances with enduring hope and faith in him. (page 2)

This is a wonderful book to learn firsthand about grace. But it is also a book which will serve as a reminder to us all that God’s grace can transform every life, every situation, every mistake, every imperfect life and make it something that is good, useful to God and precious.

To survive and even thrive in the midst of our suffering takes grace – often in epic proportions. (page 3)

I found myself challenged to live a life that is epic. Full of the adventure which God intends for each and every life. Through this book, I discovered an even deeper appreciation for God’s grace for it truly has abounded in my life.

…the best thing we can do is to figure out how to cooperate with God to grow through our struggles, whatever they may be. (page 218)

I am sure each reader will be challenged to leave a legacy – a legacy which will display God’s epic grace.

I am grateful to Tyndale Publishing for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my review. All opinions are honest and my own.
