My husband and I will soon be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary! Where, oh where, has the time gone? Seriously, we were such babies when we married.

Thirty five years later and Danny is still the best thing to happen in my life apart from Jesus.

When we first met, he was a mechanic. A man who used tools to fix vehicles for so many. Still does.

And he was the very tool God would use to draw me closer to Himself in a relationship of complete dependency upon Him.

Thirty five years. We have had our ups and downs, although I will have to say – mostly ups. And God has been faithful every step of the way. Every minute. I stand amazed that He has taken two such imperfect people and given a life of much joy and laughter.

He has given us a family whom has blessed us in ways we never deserved.

Grace. All His grace.

We are taking a vacation to celebrate our years together.

And I am taking a rest.

A rest from blogging. A rest from the internet. A rest from the phone. A rest from it all.

I want to focus on the gifts God has given me – this man and this time.

“Haven’t you read, ” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” (Matthew 19:4-6, NIV)
