I haven’t been to McDonald’s in a long time but I haven’t forgotten their commercials. You can order a lunch combination by number and then you can “super size” it. Kick it up a notch and get it just a little bigger. And yet, when it comes to my dreams, I hesitate to super size them.

Dreams.

We all have them. Some more than others. Some bigger, some smaller. But we all have them. When we are younger, our dreams tend to have no limits as maybe we haven’t learned our limitations quite yet.

But here’s the thing – our limitations never matter at all.

Holley Gerth gives what has to be my favorite definition of a dream, a God-sized dream that is …

God-sized dream = a desire in your heart for more of what God has for you.”

The dreams are God given, placed in your heart by God and for which you will have a desire to pursue.

Did you catch it? I said “DREAMS”.

Over the course of your life, you will have several dreams. Hopefully, you will never stop dreaming.

Dreams will have an affect on your faith as it will require faith on your part to reach your dreams. And to keep dreaming, you will need to keep praying. And as you keep praying, you will keep dreaming.

It’s a funny thing about dreams.

They really aren’t dreams unless they go beyond our capabilities. If we can achieve them, we get the credit. But something happens when we are unable to make them happen – God gets the glory and we grow.

Nothing honors God more than a big dream that is way beyond our ability to accomplish. And nothing is better for our spiritual development than a big dream because it keeps us on our knees in raw dependence on God.
(The Circle Maker, page 45)

And it’s a funny thing about God-sized dreams …

Prayer and imagination are directly proportional: the more you pray the bigger your imagination becomes because the Holy Spirit supersizes it with God-sized dreams. (The Circle Maker, page 44)

“What is impossible for people is possible with God.” (Luke 18:27, NLT)

“Never stop praying.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17, NLT)

Today let’s pray for our imaginations to increase! And then – keep praying and believing for the impossible!
