Five-Minute-Friday-4-300x300I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.

Today the word prompt is …. Turn.

Turn, as defined by dictionary.com is “to change or alter the course of; divert; deflect”.

Most timely word for today – turn – as this morning I will be driving to two places unknown to me. Needless to say, I am most grateful my car has a GPS system which I will rely upon. I will listen intently for the voice to tell me when and where to turn.

When I make a mistake or miss a turn, my GPS will automatically re-calculate and turn me around or re-direct my route. I can continue driving, somewhat confident, the GPS knows exactly where and how to get me to my destination.

Have you noticed life can be just the same?

I journey through life, with its twists and turns. There are times, I know exactly where I want to be. To get there is as easy as slice bread. But other times, I truly have no idea where I am headed nor how to go. It is at those very times, I am so grateful for the GPS provided to me through the Holy Spirit:

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21, NIV)

Just as in my car GPS, the Holy Spirit knows the way in which I am to go. Even those times, when I am going down a wrong path, He will change my course helping me to avoid or divert a situation. He is fully capable of re-calculating my steps so as to get me back on track and headed in the right direction once again.

GPS —> “Global Positioning System” —> works any place I go in this world for He always comes with me. He is faithful to stay the course for all of my days until one day He says …

“Your destination is up ahead.”

Today I may be joining … Five Minute Friday and Everyday Jesus and Fellowship Fri. and Friendship Fri. and Faith & Fellowship .
