I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.
Today the word prompt is … When.
When I saw the word prompt, I went to bed truly not knowing what I would do with this word. I wasn’t sure any words would come.
For when I think of all God has brought about in my life, taken me through, redeemed, restored and blessed me with, I am overwhelmed by Him.
There is not a day which passes in which I do not remember or see His hand at work. The very thought is most humbling for I deserved none of it.
Even when I look back on this week … when I yet see His continued work in my family, I am amazed and am filled with a joy and rejoicing whereby I have to tell others.
When I open my eyes and look around at His activity, I see His grace, His mercy, His goodness, His kindness, His gentleness. When I begin to notice the course of my days, I realize He goes before me and He comes after me.
When I look, I am totally reduced to my knees before Him.
When I woke this morning, I listened to the song playing in my head. The words softly weaving their way through my mind. And again, I was amazed as I recognized them –
“When I survey the wondrous cross. On which the Prince of glory died…..”
Yes, indeed … When.

Beautiful reflection, Joanne, on “When.” When we open our eyes, we see more of God’s goodness! More of His grace! Hallelujah!
It is amazing what occurs when … Have a blessed Sunday!
When…
Beautiful words, Joanne.
When we turn to Him, it’s a glorious day. Love that He planted that song in you today.
When…
Susan, I was amazed as I found myself humming 🙂 He is so wonderful in His dealings with each of us.
Just perfect! When I open my eyes, He’s right there, even in the midst of my mess. Happy weekend!
Barbie, may we continually keep our eyes open & our ears attentive. May we not let the mess distract us from Him.
Beautiful! There is not a day that goes by that when we stop and reflect that we don’t see God’s Hands on every part of our day. I love your choice of songs. May our beautiful God continue to bless you and your family.
Glad you were blessed by the song, Mary. Those old hymns have such a way of staying rooted in our souls 🙂
What a beautiful response to “when” – loved hearing your words today. #dancewithJesus

May we pause each day to remember His goodness to us. Have a wonderful weekend!
Lovely, Joanne. So many powerful moments WHEN we take some precious time to focus on the cross. Thanks for this today. I needed it (as usual.)
Sharita, I am glad it was a timely post for you. It is always good to join you & your community!
I love that song! Amen and amen. God’s ‘when’ covers our past and paints our future in the most beautiful of ways!
Anita, I love how you put it. For God truly does take care of our past & paint our future. Such hope in that!
I love how you intertwined `when` within this post.
Now, I am going to listen to the song.
