She stated to me that most days she feels invisible. It broke my heart as I think most of us have felt this way at some time or another. It is not a pleasant feeling.
Invisible is to be in a room filled with people, not know who to talk with and realize no one will be approaching you either. It’s as if no one notices you or even knows you are there.
The enemy would be quick to move in on those thoughts. He knows how to capitalize on a lie …
- “Why should anyone notice you?”
- “There’s nothing interesting about you.”
- “If you were funnier, a better conversationalist or knew how to make small talk, maybe then they’d notice you.”
These lies will explode in our minds faster than an overblown balloon can pop. To prevent this, one must reign the lies in with the truth of God.
And that truth is that He notices you. You are not invisible to Him. Never have been. Never will be.
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” (Psalm 139:16, NLT)
He saw you before even a day of your life had come to be. Every single moment which would happen was already on His radar. The entire span of your life from beginning to end was already seen and known by God. You were never hidden from His sight.
“The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping his eye on both the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3, NLT)
There is not a single place any of us can go where His eye is not watching.
“But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.”
“And the very hairs on your head are numbered.” (Matthew 10: 29, 30, NLT)
Sparrows were cheap and common in those days. Yet our God knew fully if one would fall to the ground. He kept watch on them. And He keeps count of the hairs on your head. Not one can fall to the bathroom floor without His knowing.
Eeyore believed that no one ever noticed him. He became accustomed to those thoughts and never was able to think otherwise. All the while, the truth was he had Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Rabbit who wanted and enjoyed his company. He was noticed. He just didn’t believe he was visible.
May you know in the depths of your heart that you are noticed.
Today.
Every day.
Every moment.
Everywhere.
Today I am joining …. Three Word Wednesday and Tell His Story and Wedded Wednesday and Wednesday Prayer Girls and Women With Intention .
So much important encouragement here! I do love Eeyore. Sadly, I think it’s because I relate to him too well. We really are always noticed regardless if we feel that way or not. God truly never forgets about us and I’m so incredibly thankful for that.
Candace, you’re right – we do often forget that our God notices us each & every day. I also think He places people in our lives who notice us and that we are to take notice of. I was so grateful to realize that Eeyore had many who loved him whether he realized it or not. You are noticed more than you realize! XO
“You are not invisible to Him. Never have been. Never will be.” So glad! Great reminders of truth here. Stopping over from Three Word Wednesday. Thank you.:)
We are seen every day. So glad to be seeing you today!
I love it when Hagar realizes that God sees her, even though she felt invisible to Sarah and Abraham. When she called Him “the God who sees,” she opened the door for all of us to know that we are seen and mightily loved by God. Thank you for the nudge to remember that today — and I LOVE Eeyore . . . he’s my favorite in the Hundred Acre Wood.
Michele, I love that portion of Scripture. I love that Hagar states, “You are the God who sees me.” And then says, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” It is a mutual seeing. As we realize He notices us, we notice Him in greater measure. You have blessed me today!
Even though I know those verses you quoted, I’m always amazed at how God sees and knows every detail of our being. Thanks for that fresh reminder today and for linking up at #ThreeWordWednesday.
It is amazing when we sit & think about the way in which our God involves Himself in the details of our lives with compassion, with mercy & with purpose.
Hope your little guy is doing better!
It never fails to delight my heart to know that He sees and knows before I do AND that He still loves me. With all the flaws and imperfections, he keeps on loving, choosing, and knowing Me. Amazing grace!
He truly does, Tiffany. He loves us knowing what we will become. And we will become like Him as He changes us. Amazing!
