A few weeks ago, I shared how 500 pregnant women showed up for Mama Kits in Katwe, Uganda when The Lulu Tree only had 100 kits to give out. The turnout far exceeded anyone’s expectations. We also came to realize we had to make a way for The Lulu Tree to go back to deliver kits to the remaining women who had left empty handed that day.
In just a few short weeks, the funds were raised for the supplies to be purchased there and assembled. This week our National Director Esther, along with a local pastor who supports The Lulu Tree, and our mamas returned to hand out 500 Mama Kits.
Again many of us did the only thing we knew to do – pray.
In the book of Habakkuk is recorded a prayer by the prophet. Habakkuk, in total awe of the mighty works of God, asks for God to intervene once again so that redemption would be known by many:
“Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make known; in wrath remember mercy.” (Habakkuk 3:2, NIV)
People everywhere are desperate for God’s help. They need to be rescued from hopelessness and be assured their lives matter. So we prayed on behalf of these pregnant Mamas, for God to show up there in Katwe and do what only He could do.
And the report came Friday morning ….
TWO HUNDRED women gave their lives to Christ yesterday during The Lulu Tree’s mama kit ministry yesterday in Katwe, Uganda. This is the best news ever. Our Lulu Father, Bishop Lubinga, led them to Christ, while “Mama” Esther Tendo preached from Exodus 1:15-21. I am still waiting on a total number but I know these women arrived at 6 am and they came in shifts and at the end of the day Esther had to send them home without mama kits (and they had 500 to give out)… please keep praying. Oh how the Lord is moving. He is saving souls and bodies.
Even with 500 kits , we still ran out. We are seeing God do above and beyond what we could have ever imagined.
All He asks is for us to be willing.
Then we step back and stand in awe of His deeds.

What wonderful news. Just today I read such a disturbing article about the spread of extremist violence and take over in Africa. May God continue to move and bring many to salvation. Linking with you at Faith’n Friends.
