It’s Friday! I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Many of us writing on that same word.

Today’s prompt is … Help.

I am in need of help this morning. We are in a situation where we will make a decision and want to make it wisely.

Help >> “to give or provide what is necessary to accomplish a task or satisfy a need“.

Scripture assures me that God is an “ever-present help” in my times of trouble or need. He is immediately and instantly there and available to those who call on Him.

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1, NLT)

He is our help, our means of support or assistance when we are weak, helpless, or in need. He is all-sufficient, able to provide swift action in our lives.

He is ever-present meaning there is never a time He is not present. The enemy would have us to believe that we are alone in those moments of needing help. May we remember that our God is with us, currently and presently, to help us.

The psalmist continues to remind us that even in times of disaster, our God is our strength and our protection. No matter the help which we need, our God is able to be that very help to us. In my request for wisdom in decision making, I need to –

“Be still and know that I am God!” (verse 10).

I need to wait and know that He is ready to help. This morning I am not in trouble but having trouble with a decision. While it is no comparison with the trouble of others, I am assured that, even in this small matter,

He is my help.
