“…. that I may know Him….” (Philippians 3:10)
A spiritually vigorous saint never believes that his circumstances simply happen at random, nor does he think of his life as being divided into the secular and the sacred. He sees every situation in which he finds himself as the means of obtaining a greater knowledge of Jesus Christ, and he has an attitude of unrestrained abandon and total surrender about him.
The aim of a spiritually vigorous saint is “that I may know Him…” Do I know Him where I am today? The aim of a spiritually vigorous saint is to achieve the realization of Jesus Christ in every set of circumstances.

Today I am joining … Give Me Grace and Spiritual Sundays and Word of God Speak and Let Us Grow and Faith ‘n Friends .
What a glorious five-word prayer for my Sunday morning.
Blessings, Joanne.
I love that no matter how many times I may read the words in My Utmost, there still remains a powerful thought to apply to my life. Hope you are having a good summer, Michele!
I love that verse Joanne. I try to find Him in all I do. Yesterday it was thanking Him for my grandsons having fun at a funeral for an uncle. It was a sad and a joyous day.
Sorry for your loss, Debbie. It is amazing how God brings joy in the middle of sadness and loss. He knows just what we need during those times. May He bring you continued comfort!
I love this verse, and I love the devotions by Oswald Chambers, too! 🙂
Ruth,
I am always amazed that no matter how many times I have read My Utmost, it still brings a new and powerful thought to apply to my life. Thank you for stopping here! May you come to know Him more deeply! Blessings!
This is my life’s pursuit, that I might know Him, really know Him. Thank you for sharing at Let Us Grow!
Barbie,
That should be the pursuit, no? May we be “spiritually vigorous” all of our days and truly come to know Him! Grateful for you and Let Us Grow. xo
