“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him?” (Matthew 7:11, NLT)
Fill your mind with the thought that God is there. Once your mind is truly filled with that thought, when you experience difficulties it will be as easy as breathing for you to remember, “My heavenly Father knows all about this!” This will be no effort at all, but will be a natural thing for you when difficulties and uncertainties arise. Before you formed this concept of divine control so powerfully in your mind, you used to go from person to person seeking help, but now you go to God about it. Jesus is laying down the rules of conduct for those people who have His Spirit, and it works on the following principle:
God is my Father, He loves me, and I will never think of anything that He will forget, so why should I worry?
(from My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers)

This bit of shared wisdom brought to mind a song from the past — I think Second Chapter of Acts sang “Mansion Builder”:
“Why should I worry?
Why should I fret?
Cuz I’ve got a mansion builder who’s not through with me yet.”
Michele,
As soon as I read your mention of the song, I had to go to listen to it. I remember it well and yes, it is sung by 2nd Chapter of Acts. I loved them! It had been a long time (years) since I had heard the song. It blessed me to sit and let the lyrics minister to me again today. Thank you so much for mentioning it! xo
“Fill your mind with the thought that God is there.” I could have tagged this line to my post because it sits in the heart of what I’m feeling this week. God sees, and God knows and we – will be alright. Thanks for linking up at #GiveMeGrace! BTW – Your site is lovely. I respond to posts from my ipad and unless I actually go to the site all I see is the comment I’m responding to so I haven’t “visited” in awhile. Love the layout and colors.
Lisha,
That quote spoke to my heart for days. The truth is this … if our mind is filled with the thought that God is there, there won’t be room left for any other thoughts š It’s a challenge I’ve been thinking on quite a bit. Thank you so much for your visit and kindness! Blessings!
Amen! Oswald is a wise man. Replacing the thoughts that consume us with God replaces the fear with Him. Happy Sabbath Day Joanne!
He surely is, Mary! And the thing is while I have read through My Highest before, it still brings a fresh thought, applicable to my life today. Blessings!
That is such a powerful quote, and so true!
Oswald Chambers sure knows how to bring a challenging thought š Have a blessed Sunday, Elizabeth!
