“O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans are too numerous to list. You have no equal.” (Psalm 40:5, NLT)

My Bible open, the words – His Word – I sit staring at the words before me, waiting for thoughts to come. Turning to read elsewhere, I read and then return to read the above words again and again.

What am I being drawn to see, this morning, this very moment that I am overlooking?

My eyes fall on the word, actually the letter “s”, as I see the word in a new light – “PLANS”.

Over the years, I have often heard, “God has a plan for your life.” And that is true. He also has plans – plural – for our lives.

Within the larger scope of the plan, our God is working out many plans.

I sit with my Bible open before me for well over an hour. Life has often taken unexpected twists and turns which made me question His plan for my life. Yet every change, in time, proved to be instrumental in His plans opening my eyes to see:

  1. His plan is with intent. “Intent” is a noun meaning “with purpose and design” (dictionary.com). God’s plan for our life is by His design and for His purpose.
  2. His plans are intentional. “Intentional” is an adjective meaning working towards a specific goal or outcome. Each detail and nuance of our lives plays into His plan. He works in our lives with careful attention, nothing occurring that is for naught.

God’s plans are multifaceted and unlimited. They are called wonders because as we see them unfold in our lives, we will be amazed. We recognize these occurrences and changes as powerful interventions of our God to work His plan in our lives.

His plans are with intent and are intentional.
Trust Him.
