“Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.” (Galatians 4:19, NLT)
I have a heredity in which I have no say or decision.
Redemption means that Jesus Christ can put into anyone the hereditary nature that was in Himself, and all the standards He gives us are based on that nature – His teaching is meant to be applied to the life which He puts within us. The proper action on my part is simply to agree with God’s verdict on sin as judged on the Cross of Christ.
And redemption means that I can be delivered from the heredity of sin, and that through Jesus Christ I can receive a pure and spotless heredity, namely, the Holy Spirit.

Stopped in my tracks by that verse from Galatians. Do I have this fervor in my communication of truth? Not even close.
Paul definitely had a fervor, a boldness which was unmatched.
A pure and spotless heredity. Hallelujah!
It is both amazing and humbling to think on.
Oswald Chambers could convey truths in such a clear manner. God has used him to speak to many hearts – including mine.
He speaks to mine as well. Every few years, I pull out “My Highest” as my devotional for the year. I love my worn copy which continues to speak truth into my life. Blessings!
