It was a beautiful autumn day. The air was crisp yet the sun felt wonderful as it warmed our hands and faces. Almost all of the leaves had fallen which made it the perfect day to hear them crunch under our feet and jump in them.

Contentment settled on my soul as the smell of autumn brought a comfort and God was evident all around me.

Pulling out my phone, I began to snap away, wanting to take in the joy of the day, savoring the memories of this current season. The tree had dropped every single one of its leaves – overnight. They all hung in place on their assigned branches, only to shed them while we all had slept soundly.

He left glimpses of Himself in the way the sun, now setting earlier, let its rays filter through another tree and its golden leaves,

and in red patches, forming a garland along the grass.

His Word, read earlier, begins to echo through my thoughts …

“Who has held the oceans in his hands?
Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?
Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?
Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars?
He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name.
Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.”
(Isaiah 40: 12, 26, NLT)

His great power.

His incomparable strength.

May we keep looking up, eyes opened and not miss the glimpses of Him all around us.
