Last week we celebrated Thanksgiving. A time to remember all we have been given and give thanks. And yet we can so quickly forget …

We forget all that we have.
We forget those who do not have.

As we celebrated Thanksgiving here, on the other side of the ocean were those who were living a normal day. And doing Kingdom work.

Last week the team of The Lulu Tree returned to the Jinja villages on the outskirts of Katwe. They had been there not so long ago and seen the needs of the people.

They determined to return to tend to those needs by:

  • caring for the feet infected by jiggers and doing the painful work of removing them from their feet
  • providing them shoes to prevent future infection
  • bringing clothing and food
  • feeding and encouraging their souls with encouragement from Scripture.

And the people came.

The team from The Lulu Tree brought shoes and clothing. All of the 250 shoes and 800 articles of clothing were purchased with profits from November’s sales at the MAMA shop. Each month, the mamas give 90% of the profits towards shoes, clothing, clean water, birthing kits, and other needs they see in the people served.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7, NLT)

The Good News was received.
Needs were met.
And beautiful were the feet!
