The higher goal of spiritual living is not to amass a wealth of information, but to face sacred moments. What is retained in the souls is the moment of insight. ~ Abraham Joshua Heschel

I admire educational achievements. I enjoy learning which means I will probably always be a “student”, as I read voraciously. My higher education remains incomplete and one of my biggest regrets.

The above quote put it into perspective for me …

In my relationship with God, information is not the goal. The goal is those moments in my day by which I recognize the very Presence of God Himself. The goal is what He Himself reveals to me; the insight I gain from Him and from His Word.

The question I am finding myself pondering this morning is….

Today, where will I find that sacred moment? Where will you find it?

For you see, we may not remember every fact in Scripture but we will, in fact, remember the moment our God revealed Himself to us. Our hearts will burn with the truth imparted and the Scripture He brought to mind.

May we be like Moses, who upon noticing a burning bush, decided to “go over and see the strange sight ”“ why the bush does not burn up.”

May we be like Moses, when the Lord called to him from within that same bush, his response was simply, “Here I am.” (Exodus 3:4).

One sacred moment defined Moses’ life.
And those sacred moments will define our lives as well.
Sacred moments ”“ I don’t want to miss them.
