“O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.” (Isaiah 25:1, NIV)

I envision great things, but life often gets in the way.

What a contrast I am to my heavenly Father. “In perfect faithfulness [He has] done marvelous things, things planned long ago” (Isaiah 25:1, NIV). He doesn’t get sidetracked by our everyday emergencies, though He is always there to tend to our need with tenderness and love. He doesn’t run out of time. He doesn’t cancel plans at the last minute and settle for less that He had hoped.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You that You are not in a rush to guide me, to mold me and to conform me to the image of Your Son. May I rest in You instead of rush; may I trust You instead of my own abilities. Amen.
