“Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.” (Isaiah 49:15-16a, NLT)

We are moved to pray for the family, for the village and the entire people group with a heaviness of spirit.

These people have become the object of intercession. We strategize and agonize over how to get involved in their lives. We celebrate little triumphs. But we find our greatest hope comes from Scripture. God has said that Jesus’ blood has purchased men “from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9, NIV). Some of the people whom we’ve grown to love and others we don’t even know will join in worshiping Jesus in eternity. They will come to Him. He knows who they are. Their names are written on His hands.

A God who knows us is the only One to love and serve.
