He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few, So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
(Matthew 9:37-38, NLT)
I wonder how many seekers of God are ignored by church members? How many others live in countries where access to the gospel is limited? Have my busyness or my feelings of inadequacy left someone waiting? In His mercy, the Holy Spirit prepares people’s hearts to hear truth, but He calls us to actually speak to it.
Prayer: Father, it grieves me to think I have kept someone waiting to hear the gospel. Open my eyes to opportunities to greet those whom I meet. Give Christian workers the urgency, too, to seek out the lost in order to develop relationships with them. Amen.
