The verse had been before me for several days, coming from various sources of reading.

Peace. We often thing of it as the absence of strife, but it encompasses much more. It is an overall sense of well-being. It is a security and a soundness of mind.

As I fix my mind on Him, He fixes my mind.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3, NLT)

In a beautiful post, Seeking Peace in Busy August, Sarah Geringer, brought the reminder of exactly where we are to keep our minds focused.

As I continued to dwell on this verse, I came to learn:

  1. We are to be committed to, dependent on, and leaning upon God. Humble dependence on God will produce a trust in God’s abundant strength.
  2. Trust in God produces peace.

The more we come to trust and depend on God, the more peace we will experience. And then we will trust God all the more.

It all comes down to telling God all things which I am concerned:

“Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7, NLT)

We can have lives marked by perfect peace.
A harmony, quietness, and confidence can be ours
as we trust God and depend on Him.
