“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:17, NIV)
God is so good to send the rains and to then perfect if with His creation enjoying His life-giving light.
Every breath we draw, every word we speak and every new day we are blessed by the gifts from the Father above who knows our needs before we ever voice them. What a joy to serve a God who enjoys His children! I imagine His great delight as He waters the Ugandan soil and then watches His precious people pause to thank Him for providing their daily bread.
Prayer: Dear God, may I never take Your countless blessings for granted! May You make the ground fertile for spiritual harvest in Uganda and in my own neighborhood. Amen.

This devotional moved me deeply when I read it this week. As many of you may know, The Lulu Tree is a ministry in which I am involved and love greatly. Recently there was a storm in Uganda that destroyed most of the maize gardens in the village including our School of Hope garden. We would be ever so grateful if you would join us in prayer or feel to give.
Today I am joining … Open Sunday Thoughts and Spiritual Sundays and Scripture & a Snapshot and Sunday Scripture Blessings .
Praying for Uganda, Joanne.
Thank you and most appreciated!
“who knows our needs before we ever voice them”–I forget sometimes that I don’t have to draw God’s attention to my needs or my family’s…He knows them and my prayers aren’t the siren that calls Him to them, but a reminder to me that HE is in charge.
Jamie, such a good point > we pray not so God is reminded of our needs but so that we are reminded that He is in charge. So good!
Such a good reminder to pray for those who may be struggling with the most basic of needs.
So very true, Julie. We take so much for granted, don’t we?
I love counting God’s “countless” blessings — and realizing that there are more than can be numbered!
Blessings, Joanne!
Amen, Michele!
I didn’t realize this had been happening in Uganda. Thank you for updating us. I’m just amazed at what God has done through Emily’s life and the Lulu tree.
Elizabeth, I am constantly amazed at what God accomplishes through The Lulu Tree. He can do so much when we present Him our little.
So sorry to read about Uganda. Had never heard of the Lulu tree. Will have to research and yes, Father in Heaven, you know the needs of those in Uganda before even they do. Be with them and any blessings and help that is needed in that region as well in our entire world. I ask this in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Agreeing with you in prayer. Thank you for praying!
