If you have been around here for very long, you’ve discovered God speaks to my heart in and through the course of my daily happenings. God seems to connect the dots, teaching and leading me back to Himself in conversations, making Himself known and erasing any doubt that He is with His people.

The search for a Christmas gift, a conversation, and a morning Bible Study collided in the most beautiful unfolding.

A conversation led another to wonder where was one to find any hope for our country; and the only reply I could sincerely offer … “Only God”.

Hope. It is the first candle lit in the traditional church Advent wreath. We light it to remind us of God’s great promises to us. God had promised a Savior who would be our Hope and our Redeemer.

“The day will come, says the Lord, when I will do for Israel for Israel and Judah all the good things I have promised them. “In those days and at that time I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will do what is just and right throughout the land. In that day Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this will the its name: The Lord is Our Righteousness.”  (Jeremiah 33:14-16, NLT)

His birth brought us a King whose rule and reign will not end. His birth also brought us a High Priest in whom we find a better hope.

“But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”

“But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lives forever. Therefore, he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.” (Hebrews 7:19, 24-25, NLT)

We now have a perfect High Priest and a better hope. We can draw near to Him in confidence. He is able now and forever to save all who come to Him. He lives forever to intercede on our behalf and on behalf of those we bring before His throne.

Christ brought hope to a manger on that dark, still night. A manger became a throne. Christ will bring Hope again to a world broken and in need. And He shall sit on His throne forever.

Christ is our Hope.
It is in Him alone we have hope, we place our hope and our hopes find fulfillment.
