“You set the boundaries of the earth, and you made both summer and winter.”
(Psalm 74:17, NLT)
Back in 1887, a groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, began predicting the weather on Groundhog Day, February 2. If this highly acclaimed meteorologist comes out of his hole and sees his shadow, that means six more weeks of winter weather … The bottom line? Spring eventually comes, regardless of whether of not the groundhog sees his shadow.
Wouldn’t it be nice if something or someone would predict your future? Will the figurative storms in our life continue to rage or cease? How long will a season of hardship and suffering continue?
As you cling to the promises found in scripture, you will find hope. Blossoms will bloom!
Prayer: Father, whether I’m walking through heavy snowdrifts or dancing in the field of lilies, I’ll praise You because I believe that spring is on its way or has already come!

You and I were thinking along the same lines today! Praise the Lord spring always follows winter, my friend.
Jamie, we were which is why your post spoke to my heart when I read it 🙂 Grateful for you!
We are already seeing signs of spring here in the Pacific Northwest!
Can I just say “I’m*jealous*” but in a good way. I know spring will make its way eastward 🙂
The joke where we live is: Amen, ONLY 6 more weeks of winter! That will never happen here! Looking back at my life, I’m truly glad that no one was able to predict my future for me. Long stretches of it would have sounded very bleak. However, after having gone through it – and survived it – and seen God’s hand ordering it – I’m thankful for those difficult seasons as well as the many “spring” seasons He has given me. I praise God for being with me every step of the way.
Isn’t it true how we come to appreciate every season – even the hard ones. They are such a precious display of the faithfulness of our God. xo
The color scheme of your photo is soothing.
I live in Punxsutawney Phil’s neighborhood (broadly) where we are blessed with four distinct seasons. Always something to look forward to by the grace of God.
p.s. we call our groundhog atMuldoon – Muldoon Mortie and he didn’t show up at all on Feb. 2.
I love that you have an area groundhog 🙂 We have had one (or several) live under our shed down in the back ever since we have lived here. I am still keeping an eye out for him as we love to see him.
