Yesterday I had my first “IKEA” experience!! Tim asked me to take the ride with him to look for furnishings for his office. I am so glad that I went. What an amazing store. The whole shopping concept behind the store is ingenious.

In looking for wall hangings, I found a photo that struck a cord in me. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted to hang it in my home. So I found a frame for it while we were there & both came home with me, much to my joy.

Since getting the picture, I have been asking myself, “Why?”

Why is it that this particular picture impressed me? Why did I so desire to have it?

This morning in reading, in Scripture, I think I found the answer behind the picture:

“Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.”  (Jeremiah 6:16 ESV).

The tree in my picture represents to me the rest that I find when I have chosen the good path as it is there that I find the rest that I long for.

“When you live good and act good and choose good, rest for your soul results.”   (Angela Thomas, Brave, page 27).

Living, acting & choosing the good path can be challenging some days. Challenging but never…..

                             impossible.

So who knew that in the middle of the ordinary, shopping at IKEA, God was going to show up? I am so thankful that He did!!!!
