Proverbs 18:4 says this:
“Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook.”
The words we speak each day come from our character. Ask       yourself…how deep is your water? Is your character rooted deeply within you so that your words reflect Him?
I laughed when I read that wisdom flows from the wise “like a      bubbling brook”. Funny that it does not say “babbling brook”. Yes, sadly, pun was intended :))
A bubbling brook was meant to be “refreshing, like a flowing wadi in the desert.” (New American Commentary on Proverbs, page 164). A wadi is a riverbed that remained dry in the desert except for times of heavy rain. In the midst of a desert, a wadi would be a most desired find. It would bring life to a dehydrated person, possibly even save their life.
Babbling, on the other hand, refers to foolish or meaningless chatter.
May we aspire to be people whose words are wise, refreshing,     bringing life to those that are listening.
