“Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 8:3)

Lord, who can comprehend even one of your words? There are all kinds of treasures buried inside, so that each of us might grow rich in seeking them out.

And so whenever you discover some part of the treasure, you should  not think that you have exhausted God’s Word. You should actually give thanks for its riches precisely because you could not capture it all.

So be glad that you are overwhelmed by the Word. A thirsty person is happy when drinking, not depressed because he or she cannot exhaust the spring! So let this spring quench your thirst, and do not try to quench the spring with your drinking.

Be thankful then for what you have received.
