Most Fridays, I join Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.
Today the word prompt is … Alone.
It didn’t take long for the thoughts of the week to come flooding back upon reading the word prompt …
“He alone is God.”
Alone, as defined by dictionary.com means “separate, apart, or isolated from others; unique, unequaled, unexcelled; exclusively.”
It’s been days that I have been thinking about the mighty deeds of our God. He alone can do the impossible, the astounding, and miraculous.
“For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.”
(Psalm 86:10, NIV)
God, alone, stands unequaled. No one and nothing comes close to the excellence which is found in Him. And yet, while He stands apart from all else, He does not isolate Himself from His people. He delights in them, coming to them. He resides inside of them.
He alone is able to meet our needs, lift our burdens, intervene in situations, or bring healing. May we stand in awe of Him, humbling ourselves before Him and ask Him to do what only He can do.
“Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.” (Habakkuk 3:2, NIV)
“He alone is God.”
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Fellowship Friday and Grace & Truth and Blessing Counters .
I often have to remind myself that He alone is God…and that I am not in charge. 🙂 Your words are a great reminder to continue trusting and believing Him for all that I am and need and want. Great post, Joanne! xoxo
So grateful to you for your encouragement, Holly. We must constantly remind ourselves that He alone is God. If not, something else will easily take that place. And it happens subtly. Have a great weekend!
Beautiful, and so full of hope. He truly alone is God, and He alone is always with us. What joy to know we are never, ever, ever truly alone, no matter how we feel.
Jen, I so need to remind myself of this often. He alone is God. He does things His way. In His time. And perfectly. Grateful you stopped to share!
The photo is beautiful! The words you shared on “alone” so uplifting! Thank you for sharing your words…I actually do miss the FMF group; haven’t done it in quite some time! I am thinking for the 31 days challenge in October I’ll follow Kate’s five minute daily writings…it will get me back into it!!!
Barbara, do come back to join them all. It’s funny … I have done the 31 challenge the last 2 years with my own “theme”. This year I am toying with doing Kate’s as well.
He alone is God and yet He never leaves us alone! That old song, “No, never alone, no never alone. He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone.” Amen. ♥
Nannette, love that the old songs come back to us! Blessings, sweet friend!
Amen! He alone is all that we could possibly need! There are moments, especially when I look at the beauty of nature (like your photo) that my heart skips a beat and the truth of that statement truly sets in. I’m so glad I found you on #FellowshipFriday!
Blessings and smiles,
Lori
So grateful that you visited, Lori. It is amazing how a little beauty boasts of our Creator which just takes our breath. May you see Him, alone, in a delightful way today. Blessings!
