Today I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. All of us writing on that same word.
Today’s prompt is …. Share.
In reading the prompt, the words from earlier in the week come back to mind:
“Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:13, NLT)
Share, a verb meaning to use, to participate in, to enjoy, to receive jointly. Amazing to think the Holy Spirit indwells each one who believes. We each receive His Spirit jointly to rely upon and participate in His fellowship.
It is by His Spirit that we become a united family of believers – caring and supporting one another.
We link arms with those closest to us – our immediate families, those we worship with, and those we are enjoy relationship.
Other times, He calls us to share our lives with those we have yet to meet face to face. And that is the wonder of the internet. Yet it is by His Spirit, the One we share, that our paths are crossed and we are given the beautiful privilege of sharing life together.
Each of us, with different gifts and abilities, comprising the whole. Those gifts to be shared for the common good of us all. None more prominent, special, or noticeable than the other. We come to His Table, each of us equal, and share.
The world would have us to think that in sharing we have less. But in and through the sharing, we become stronger, united, encouraged and more than we could ever imagine.
We are able to overcome any differences,
because we share one Spirit.
His.

The reminder that share is a verb is good for me today. It’s a reminder that we can choose to share our lives with others. It’s an intentional, active choice. Happy Friday to you! Enjoy your weekend!
It was a reminder I needed to give myself 🙂 Funny how these word prompts work! Have a wonderful weekend!
Yes! I’ve been reminded so many times that the Christian walk is not a game of solitaire. God meant us to share with others, and I know I have learned so much every time I’ve been brave enough to put myself out there.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
It’s true, Amy. You make a great point – we are the ones who learn every time we put ourselves out there. Love the thought!
This is absolutely beautiful. So powerfully written. Loved it. Thanks so much for sharing. Helen {A FMF friend}
Lovely, Joanne! I especially appreciate these words: “Each of us, with different gifts and abilities, comprising the whole. Those gifts to be shared for the common good of us all. None more prominent, special, or noticeable than the other. We come to His Table, each of us equal, and share.” because of their inclusivity. No one is left out, ignored or marginalised in the kingdom of God. We are all part of a glorious whole, each one with gifts to bring to the table. Thank you! Have a blessed weekend. Xx
Joy, I love how you put it – “a glorious whole”. Those are powerful words to think on. Have a wonderful weekend!
This is beautiful. I love to think this. It’s the Holy Spirit that brings us together.
Thank you for linking with Grace and Truth last week!
