It’s Friday!!! I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Many of us writing on that same word.
Today’s prompt is … Miss.
At the sight of the word, I immediately think, “I don’t want to miss what God has for me.” And then the verse comes and speaks softly,
“See to it that no one misses the grace of God….”
I walk to the family room to open my Bible to read the verse:
“Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to is that no one misses that grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”
(Hebrews 12: 14-15, NIV)
Bitterness, the root which can defile any of us. We don’t like something which occurs, a decision that is made, or a comment made to us and we get upset, hurt, and angry. Yet in those very moments, God has provided His grace to soothe us in times of hurt.
God’s grace, His free and extended loving kindness to us, can be the very help we need in those times to look beyond. Don’t miss that grace which is available to us and enables us to live in peace with all.
“See to it that no one misses the grace of God.” Let’s look out for one another; helping one another to run our race with excellence and to the glory of our God.
For if we don’t miss the grace of God,
we won’t miss out on all that He has for us.
Today I am joining …. Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Grace & Truth .

Lovely post, Joanne. Powerful verse to boot. Thank you. I will carry that around for awhile for sure. Blessings to you! (And I love the new look here!)
Thank you, Mari-Anna, for the encouragement. May none of us miss out on all God has for us. Blessings!
Joanne, that’s an amazing verse to meditate on. I was just chatting with my children about being on the look-out for God’s grace gifts, and this verse fits right in. We should always accept God’s grace to overlook offenses and always be willing to share that grace with others. Thanks for a well-spent 5 minutes.
Thank you, Carlie. It was the very first thought which came to mind when I saw the word prompt. If we but look to the grace of God, we would so be able to overcome offenses. May you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Just what I needed to hear tonight dear Joanne! Love and blessings to you my dear sister! xxx
It’s been a long time, Natasha. So glad you’re back 🙂 Blessings to you!
