I know that God is always at work. I know that. There are days, however, that He shows up in a way that. well, just blows the lid off the box. Today was one of those days. I am sitting here amazed. Jaw dropped. Mouth opened. Tears rolling. Humbled to experience Him at work in the life of someone I love.
While I cannot share all the details, I will do my best to explain so that perhaps it will give hope to someone facing a difficult situation.
A dearly loved friend of mine was facing an expensive penalty through absolutely no fault of their own or wrong on their part. In trying to move forward in the situation & do the right thing, all we could was to make it a matter of prayer & trust God to give wisdom in sorting the situation through. Today the last part of the puzzle fell into place by which the situation could be handled honestly, with integrity, pleasing to God – and no penalty imputed.
All I can say is, “ONLY GOD! Only God!”
Only God could have worked it all out. Only He could have given us the wisdom & direction by which to handle this all.
ONLY GOD.
As I got down on my knees to thank Him, to pour out my gratitude to Him, I was reminded of this portion of Scripture:
“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” (Isaiah 42:16 NIV).Â
There are times in life that we move forward, unsure of where we are going. Unsure of how things will work out. Unsure IF they will work out. But God knows. He goes before us, leading the way. He turns the darkness into light. He smooths out those bumpy places. He never forsakes us.
And somehow, when He does just this, we come to know Him even more. Our faith & trust in Him grows exponentially.
At these times, we come to realize that NOTHING, NOTHING is ever worth risking His Presence in our lives. Nothing is ever worth losing His favor. Nothing. Not ever.
More so, we come to realize that HE IS THE REWARD!
When we have Him in our lives, we have it all!!!!
