Maybe I am dating myself with this one, but today I remembered the commercial that had the slogan, “When E.F. Hutton speaks, everyone listens.†The commercial usually involved a young professional     remarking at a dinner party that his broker was E.F. Hutton, an       investment firm, which then prompted the loud party to come to a screeching halt & silence so everyone could hear the investing tip that would be given.
I am not sure what brought that commercial to mind this morning. But it got me to thinking….
What happens when God speaks?
“He sends his orders to the world – how swiftly his word flies!â€Â          (Psalm 147:15 NLT).
OK, so His orders fly & now what happens?
“He sends the snow like white wool; he scatters frost upon the ground like ashes. He hurls the hail like stones. Who can stand against his freezing cold? Then, at his command, it all melts. He sends his winds, and the ice melts.†(Psalm 147:16-18 NLT).
By simply speaking the Word, our God changes not only the seasons but the very weather.
“As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless.†    (2 Samuel 22:31 NIV).
He speaks, everything listens.
He’s better than E.F. Hutton!
