I am embarrassed to admit that it took several tries to even spell the word correctly. Even in spelling it, rhythm does not come easily. It comes with a struggle, even for a person know for being a good speller.
But then that is the way rhythm is most days.
You think you have the rhythm down pat. You know – the routine, the uniformity of the days, the repeated pattern & nuances. But do we ever really?
Days can change. Any component of a day can change…
people,
moods,
weather,
circumstances.
In thinking about rhythm this morning, rhythm is needed in a piece of music, book or a play to develop the plot, to bring it to fruition successfully. Or at least that is my understanding of it necessity. And in thinking on that, realized that there is only one rhythm that will develop my life, my journey & make it flow smoothly.
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.â€
(Matthew 11:28-30 MSG)
The rhythm of grace – unforced, light, free.
The only rhythm that makes life work.
Today I am linked with Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Fridays and Fellowship Fridays and Friendship Friday and Bible Love Notes .
I won’t even promise you that I spelled it correctly throughout the whole post. Rhythm is one of the hardest words for me to spell. Loved your post and I am glad I stopped by from Five Minute Friday.
It is so funny how a word can stump so many of us 🙂 So glad you stopped by!. Have a great Friday!
Dear Joanne
Oh, the beautiful, glorious, wonderful, soft, gentle, loving and awesome rythm of grace!! Did I leave perhaps leave and adjective out, for I cannot praise our Pappa enough for the rythm of His grace and redemption.
Much love XX
Mia
Mia –
You are so right. There will never be enough adjectives! Have a wonderful Friday!
Blessings,
Joanne
You shared some of my favorite verses of Scripture. I love the look of your blog. It’s very peaceful.
Linda –
I have loved that Scripture since first reading it in The Message years ago. It was the very first thing that came to my mind when I thought of the word “rhythm”. I am glad that my blog has a peaceful look about it 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!
Joanne
Thank you for this blog. Very nice, I like what you write. Love it. In Dutch rhythm: ritme 🙂 But in all countries we need Jesus, to find a good rhythm in our lives.
Jedidja –
We surely do. Thank you for sharing the Dutch word. I appreciate that. As I saw the word, ritme, I realized that when we live in the rhythm of grace, He makes life right for me. Ritme. I do not think I will ever forget that word. Thank you for sharing that with me today!
Blessing,
Joanne
I can’t spell rhythm. I had to copy and paste. Loved your thoughts and glad I discovered this hop. See you next Friday.
Isn’t it funny the mental block spelling this one word can create for so many of us! Glad you found the hop as well!
The rhythm of grace – oh I love that 🙂
The rhythm of grace – unforced, light, free.
The only rhythm that makes life work.
So true, friend. So very true.
Blessings to you~

That is beautiful right there!! Thanks!
Ha – I was thinking the same thing – what a great spelling lesson this week’s word has been. I like your thoughts on this today. What an interesting direction you went with this. I loved it.
Thank you. Isn’t it amazing how one word can take us in so many different directions! I am glad you stopped by today. Have a great weekend!
Definitely need the (pausing to focus on the spelling) rhythm (still got it wrong twice) of grace each day! Love the MSG translation. I can relate.
That’s really cool that we both used the same verse for our posts, and that you found me from a different link-up! Thanks so much for stopping by Mommynificent and leaving encouragement! I’ve signed up to follow your blog via email. May you be magnificently blessed today!
