A thought from G.K. Chesterton….
Here dies another day
During which I have had eyes, ears, hands,
And the great world around me;
And with tomorrow begins another.
Why am I allowed two?
May we pray as Moses did in the Psalms –
“Oh, teach us to live well! Teach us to live wisely and well!” (Psalm 90:12, The Message)
May we live each day fulfilling the purposes He has planned for us!

That Chesterton was smart fellow! Blessings to you in this new year.
Amazing the insight we can gain. Always makes me think. Happy New Year to you as well!
Beautiful shot! Happy New Year!
Thank you & same to you!
Love Chesterton! Why am I given two indeed! Such humility and wisdom. I’m sure this will stick with me today.
I do too. It has stayed with me for a few days now 🙂 Have a great week!
Oh my goodness, Joanne….every where I turn today are these reminders about spending out time wisely…starting with my post I shared last night. Today at church the pastor started a new series called 30 Days to Live…and now this post from you! The Lord is speaking! I better start listening!
Sounds like an interesting sermon series. Can it be heard online? May we be wiser with our time than last year.
Love the photo and the Words and words are very important. Thank you for sharing so beautifully.
Hello Joanne! Wow, those words “preach” as we say in my neck of the woods. 🙂 Good to hear from you.
“To live wisely and well” yes, I want to follow that teaching.
GK Chesteron will always be one of my most favorite writers. I love his thoughts.
Who knew? Makes me wonder what other bits of wisdom lie inside of you! You are going to need to share more with me! Glad you liked this thought of his! Love you!
I love that quote. I think I’ll record it in my journal, somewhere readily accessible. I have finally started being more faithful in doing a review of my day at its end, and what a thought this is to consider each day in its context! Thank you!
I am glad the quote spoke to you. May we remember the importance of each day & make it count. Grateful that you stopped here & shared! Blessings.
