As we look around at world events we quickly realize, the world is becoming an increasingly dark and sad place to live. With each passing day, the words of Jesus come to remind me:

“Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:12-13, NLT)

We must guard our hearts from growing cold so that our love towards God and others does not lessen in its intensity. Our hearts need to remain warm, pliable and increasing in its passion if we are going to impact the world around us.

Life is a journey, and at times, we forget this, thinking there should be a time in which we arrive. God’s people were reminded of this each time they journeyed to Jerusalem for the festivals.

Three times a year, the reminder stretched before them as they made the trek over dusty roads. Each trip reminded them they were journeying ever upward towards God. They were to grow in maturity and in faith, trusting Him for their every need.

We should also keep this lesson in the forefront of our minds as disciples ”“ those who are ever learning how to live this life in a Christlike manner and in faith.

February ”“ the month we speak the most often about love. Our lives need to be marked by the love of Jesus; His love being seen in us as it is extended to those around us.

How are we to love?
